Veridian Cruise supports clutch cancellation only on motorcycles that provide a clutch signal through the diagnostic/data port. On these models, the clutch can be used to disengage cruise control.
For motorcycles that do not provide this signal, we intentionally do not rely on the factory clutch switch. In our testing, most factory clutch switches actuate too late in the clutch lever travel, allowing engine RPM to rise significantly before the switch is triggered. This results in a noticeably abrupt and jerky transition when cruise control disengages.
As an additional safety measure, Veridian Cruise continuously monitors engine RPM and will automatically disengage cruise control if a maximum RPM threshold is exceeded.
Many motorcycles equipped with factory cruise control use a dedicated second clutch switch specifically for cruise cancellation, separate from the switch used for starting or gear detection. This provides much earlier and smoother disengagement than the standard clutch switch.
Coming soon: Virtual clutch, we plan to employ a virtual clutch signal that looks at fast rising RPM to also cancel.
