This kit adds much needed electronic cruise control to the big buffalo KTM 1190/1090/1050 Adventure bikes. This kit requires no splicing or cutting, just plug in and cruise. Works like it does in your car.

Choice of switch

Factory 890 Cruise Switch

We provide an OEM 890 switch adapted for use with the 1090/1190 connectors. The new menu buttons are much “clickier” and you get an OEM look. This switch has no hazard function. This switch also has no auto-cancel turn signal function (where equipped).

Wire length is suitable for stock configuration and small risers. Any bar risers will need a custom extension.

Backlight:  A wiring harness with Molex 0522660211 and spade connectors is included for wiring up the switch back light.

Triple Button Switch

A 3 button switch for controlling the cruise functions is included. Fully watertight and durable. Mounts directly to standard 22mm handlebars with a fully opening bracket. This option provides 3 buttons.

LED lights and other upgrade compatibility

This kit is 100% compatible with any aftermarket lights and kits. No wire splicing or messing with brake sensor wires.

Cruise Stop Conditions

We know it’s paramount on motorbikes to quickly kill the cruise control in as many situations as possible. Our module will disengage cruise control for any one of the following conditions:

  • Engine RPM rises above 8000
  • Front or Rear Brake Depressed
  • Clutch lever is pulled
  • Bike transmission is in first gear or neutral
  • Any one of the required CANBUS packets are not updated within 1000 milliseconds
  • A difference of 10% between the front and rear wheel speeds

Configuration

The module has a weather tight USB-C connector for changing various settings such as speed increment size, PID gain, and throttle limits.

Diagnostic Port

This kit uses the diagnostic port of your bike. If you want a second port for OBD and Off Road dongles see addon below. Also see our offroad software addon which can also enable the offroad mode.

Install Difficulty

To install this kit you must remove the tank. About 1 -2 hours install time with proper tools. T-harness will override the throttle signals and diagnostic connector will collect important speed data.

    Hi Jackson, Just wanted to thank you for getting this well thought out product out there for us to enjoy. The attention to detail clearly originates from being passionate about what you’re making and your after care is A+. I guess I’ve immediately put it to the test as I’ve driven it in one go from Belgium to Vevey in Switzerland (+/- 800km’s). I departed unforeseen late at 3PM and arrived at 3AM. My lower back was sore, but my wrists were mint 😉

    cruise control works really well on my 1190 adventure. There’s a slight pulsating movement noticeable when the cc is enabled, but it’s ok. Thanks for this great product!

    Shipment to Germany took only 8 days.
    Installation on the KTM 1190 ADV with the optional Factory 890 Cruise Switch was absolutely easy, Plug and play, just follow the installation manual, no specialist knowledge needed.
    The functionality is exactly as described and expected.
    The Cruise Control works from very low speeds (i.e. lower than 30km/h inner city limits, not all cars would do) up to ….way faster than allowed in most European countries (can be adjusted, 50% throttle is set for standard).
    The ride on CC is comfortable and smooth, you won’t notice it working except for doing what it is supposed to do.
    The “pulsating movement” described in another review (I could feel it only in low/mid speeds; 4th gear sitting at ~70km/h) can be fixed with configuration adjustments to be done via the usb-interface. So it even allows for tweaks and tuning to match your individual preferences and bike perfectly.
    You don’t just buy a closed “black box” but a well thought out, smart engineered and perfectly supported product.
    Questions are answered quick and very competent.
    I can fully recommend the CruiseControl for the KTM1190ADV as well as Veridian Cruise for their great product and outstanding support.

    Works perfectl! remember to use the cruise control buttons for enabling/disabling the Bad Fuel Software, I used the 4-way switches and couldn’t figure out the issue, until the Veridian support helped me xD

    Fantastic bit of kit for a very fair price. Works extremely well, even on roads with fairly drastic inclination changes. Installation is doable by a hobby wrencher and well described (though I would’ve liked a little more detail on wire routing) and the stock look with the 890 switch is great.

    I wish there was a way to arm/disarm the system like how OEM systems work, but that’s a minor thing in day-to-day life.

    I probably would’ve sold my bike soon for something with more gadgets. Now, I can continue enjoying it for the forseeable future. Thanks Veridian!

    KTM should have put cruise on the bike originally, but of course they were being cheap. Cruise worked first time out with no fiddling. Cruise is stable at highway speeds when there is more load on the engine, but around town in 4th or 5th and light throttle there is slight surging. If it bugs me enough, I might look into tuning the PID (?) later… For now, I don’t feel like pulling the tank off again. Also, good thing I figured out that I also needed to buy the diagnostic splitter (probably good to get it anyway in case of future upgrades). Lastly, it would have been nice to have a backlit switch, but when it’s dark, it’s easy enough to remember to hit the bottom button to set the speed.
